Clash erupts among Behala Parnasree College students over Saraswati Puja leaves

A violent clash broke out among students of Behala Parnasree College on Monday evening over arrangements for Saraswati Puja. Reports of the scuffle prompted police from Parnasree Police Station to rush to the college, control the situation, and bring both groups of students to the station to broker a compromise.

However, Ward No. 131 councillor Ratna Chatterjee alleged that after leaving the police station, two students were attacked by associates of Arnab Banerjee. The students were dragged onto the road and brutally beaten in front of police personnel. The injured were initially admitted to Vidyasagar Hospital and later shifted to SSKM Hospital for further treatment.

Several individuals from both sides have been arrested in connection with the incident. Councillor Chatterjee also clarified that another Trinamool Congress leader, known as Piklu, had no involvement in the clash and was not present at the scene. Despite police intervention, tension continues to linger in the area.

The college administration and law enforcement officials are maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent further escalation. Local authorities have urged students and residents to stay calm while the investigation into the incident continues.
